Born and raised in the Wallaceburg area, I always knew that I would return to my hometown. Having graduated from Petrolia High School with a keen interest in Business studies, I was drawn to the Business Co-op Program at Niagara College. There, I studied Business Management with a focus on Human Resources. After my studies were completed, I followed the love of my life, Nicole, to Ottawa and was hired at Jack Fraser Menswear where I soon became Manager. After 3 very successful years with the company, new challenges awaited me and I joined TD Waterhouse as a Financial Representative.
I obtained my Canadian Securities Course and was well on my way. With the crash of the tech stocks, my job became a lot less in demand and I was on the move again this time ending up in Scotland with Nicole as she pursued her studies. Upon completion of her studies, we decided to head back to Wallaceburg and start our lives together in our hometown. My career path from there has taken many turns along the way, and with each new challenge came a great learning opportunity. Most importantly, it led me to my current role with Southwest Regional Credit Union.
This year has brought some great changes in my life; the birth of my son Oliver in January, another term as Chamber President, a role with the Save Our Sydenham Group, and my newest role as Manager of the Wallaceburg Branch. My focus has always been to give back to the Community what I got from it as a kid. I have chaired campaigns for the United Way, organized a Shunpiker Tour around Wallaceburg, brought home many trophies for my famous chili, chaired the Wallaceburg Downtown Business Improvement Area and have been President of the Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce for the past 2 years. Through the involvement in my community, it has brought me closer to the individuals within it, and has made me realize how great our community is.
The values and philosophies of Southwest Regional Credit Union are very similar to my own. The new branch being built shows Southwest’s dedication and commitment to Wallaceburg and area, something I am very proud to be part of. I look forward to the many new challenges I face within the Wallaceburg Branch and I am excited to be able to bring a great banking experience to the members.
I look forward to meeting each and every member and helping him or her with a positive financial experience. We welcome new members to come see what all the buzz is about.
